Jamestown Community College recently honored 45 area high school students from throughout southwestern New York as the 2013 students of the year in the College Connections program. In selecting the students of the year, schools were asked to consider College Connections participants who had embraced the challenges of completing college level work while in high school and demonstrated resourcefulness, integrity and dedication.
Recipients included junior Nash Delcamp and senior Courtney Ransom of Brocton; junior William Bradley and senior Harlie Kalfas of Dunkirk; senior Emily Markham of Forestville; junior Samantha Henry and senior Jude Gardner of Fredonia; junior Meaka Jimerson and senior Alexa Farner of Gowanda; junior Carol Pelz of Silver Creek; and junior Mackenzi Habig and senior Rebecca Herr of Westfield.
In celebration of the award, JCC hosted students and their guests at receptions on both the Jamestown and Olean campuses. Students were awarded a gift from the college and had an opportunity to meet with JCC administrators.
