Natalie Merchant and the 10,000 Maniacs recently thrilled a capacity crowd at Chautauqua Institution in what was the band's final performance of a three-month tour to promote their third album, "Our Time in Eden." Bass guitarist Steve Gustafson told the audience the Maniacs always wanted to play at Chautauqua. The band then made a surprise presentation of two platinum albums - one to Jamestown Mayor Carolyn Seymour, who represented the group's hometown, and the other to County Executive Andrew W. Goodell.
