Rowe, Porpiglia Lead Striders' Standings
Pictured are Dan Vona and Dan Elvin, who teamed to win the 2013 Charles Hughes Member-Guest Golf Tournament at Tri-County Country Club with a 26. The Pebble Beach Flight was won by Justin Young and Pete Gilray (27.5) while Bob Clark and Tom Clarke finished second (25.5). The Bethpage Flight was won by Dylan Bennett and Jason Benke (32.5) while Mike Taylor and Jim Klubek (31) finished second. In the Torrey Pines Flight, John Hillery and Brian Hillery took first with a 30.5 while Bob Miller and Jim Barhite took second after finishing with a 29. Fred Hemmer and Keith Hemmer (30) finished first in the Oakhill Flight while Ray Helmicki and Tony Morra took second (26). In the Pinehurst Flight, Ron Huch and Todd Cross took first after finishing with a 34 and Jim Dillon and Jack Rogowski took second with their 29.5. The Merion Flight was won by Robert Jimerson and Charlie Twoguns (32) while Mike Daumen and Francis Daumen took second with their 29.5.
Adam Rowe and Judy Porpiglia currently lead the 2013 Chautauqua Striders Runner of the Year Series. The series is sponsored by the WCA Center for Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation. The top series performers after the Laurel Run 8K are as follows:

Rowe Wins Muddy
& Messy 5K
Adam Rowe, of Ripley, recently finished first out of 533 runners in the Muddy and Messy 5k in Conneaut Lake, Pa.
Rowe ran, climbed, slid, and crawled through the 3.1 mile mud race in 24:03. Rowe is a member of the Chautauqua Striders Athletic Club.

Dunkirk Little League to Hold Signups for Fall Baseball
The Dunkirk Little League is looking for players aged nine through 12 to play fall baseball.
There will be a signup for those looking to play some more baseball on Monday, July 29, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Dunkirk Little League Complex.
The cost will be $20. Any questions call 679-6929.
Randy Goss Memorial Golf Tournament
Set for Aug. 17
The 13th Annual Randy Goss Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Aug. 17, at Rosebrook Golf Course, in Silver Creek.
The tournament is a two-person scramble, with all golfers asked to be at the course by 8 a.m. There will be a shotgut start at 9 a.m. The cost is $55 per golfer, which will include golf, cart, lunch, beverages, prizes for all golfers, closest-to-the-pin on all holes, skins and dinner at the course after golfing has been completed.
