Semi scrapes by

The OBSERVER

A tractor trailer failed to clear an underpass and got itself stuck on Park Avenue in the city of Dunkirk Saturday afternoon. The driver was apparently looking for Cott Corp. around 2 p.m. and wound up passing the driveway. He then tried making his way back, but later found out the underpass on Park Avenue had a clearance of 11 feet 9 inches. Normally, a tractor trailer is 13 feet 6 inches. CSX said it is looking at possible structural damage. Dunkirk police ticketed the driver with failure to obey a traffic control device. To view a video of the incident, go to www.observertoday.com.
