PERRYSBURG - James G. Vaughn, 90, of Perrysburg, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born April 27, 1923 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late James H. and Mary (Gleason) Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn was a decorated WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1941 to 1946 in the Pacific theater. He was on the U.S.S. Hornet from 1943 to 1945, receiving the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 8 stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 2 stars.
He worked as an FBI agent in different parts of the country and was also an investigator with the Labor Department.
Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Gowanda VFW #5007, Gowanda American Legion Post #409, U.S.S. Hornet Club, Buffalo Chapter of the ex-FBI agents and the Society of Former Special Agents.
He is survived by two nieces, M. Kathleen (Jay) Justison and Molly (Patrick) Gallivan, two nephews, Michael (Elena) McKenna and Patrick (Marion) McKenna, and six great nieces and nephews, Dan, Tim and Mary Gallivan, Joy McKenna and Brian Justison.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mary McKenna, and a great nephew, Jack Gal-livan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Joseph's RC Church in Gowanda, NY on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11 a.m.
Burial with military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the WNY Food Bank.
