City accident sends two to hospital

Two were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon following a two-car accident in the city of Dunkirk. Dunkirk Police Department responded to the two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Doughty Street and Lincoln Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. According to police, a witness observed a vehicle driven by Henry R. Serafin, 85, of North Martin Street traveling west on Doughty Street and approached the intersection at Lincoln Avenue. A vehicle operated by Frank T. Rozen, 66, of Lincoln Avenue was traveling north on Lincoln Avenue, stopped at the intersection and proceeded through. Serafin failed to stop and hit Rozen's vehicle. Both Rozen and a passenger in Serafin's vehicle, Anthony Morse, 28, were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Alstar Ambulance and Dunkirk Fire Department also responded to the scene. No charges have been filed.
