SILVER CREEK - The Omnipresent Puppet Theater of Bakersfield, Calif, has been performing at libraries throughout the area this summer. Those who have missed their offering, can catch "Gumshoe McMon-ocle and the Strange Case of Rumpelsomething," at 11 a.m. today at the Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek .
The show is part of the library's 2013 Summer Reading Program whose theme this year is "Dig Into Reading."
The performance is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Rumpelstiltskin. Characters represent the good, the bad, and the clueless, as a queen hires a detective to find out the name of the man who wants to take her son. The action-packed drama is performed in the fashion of classic detective thrillers of the 1940s. The show is recommended for children ages 5 and up.
Don and Kamala Kruszka display some of the puppets who appear in Omnipresent Puppet Theater presentations. A performance will be held at the Anderson-Lee Library today.
Omnipresent Puppet Theater is operated by Don and Kamala Kruszka.
These performances are made possible by a Family Literacy Grant through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.
