MAYVILLE - CSEA has endorsed Ron Johnson for Chautauqua County Executive. Election Day is Nov. 5.
"Ron Johnson will bring innovative ideas and transparency to county government," said CSEA Chautauqua County Local President Bonnie Peters. "He will work to bring good-paying jobs to Chautauqua County and he recognizes the importance of the services public employees provide for residents every single day. He will work to protect the county's most vulnerable residents, including the frail elderly at the Chautauqua County Home. It will be a refreshing change to have an executive with Ron Johnson's credentials. Residents of Chautauqua County will be lucky to have Mr. Johnson's leadership."
"To be endorsed by an organization representing more than 1,600 workers within the county shows strength and belief in my candidacy and the prospect of a better county government," Johnson said. "This endorsement comes from real workers, taxpayers, and families who live within Chautauqua County and who believe that I will be the most qualified candidate for County Executive."
CSEA-represented voters work for public and private employers, including New York state, Chautauqua County, SUNY, towns, villages, school districts and the health care industry.
CSEA is New York State's leading union, representing employees of New York State and its counties, towns, villages, school districts, library systems, authorities and public corporations.
Together with a growing population of private sector members and retirees, CSEA forms a union 290,000 strong. It is also the largest affiliate (and Local 1000) of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees which, in turn, is one of the largest affiliates of the AFLCIO.
