Westfield One-Pitch Softball Tourney
The Annual Westfield One-Pitch Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will be held Aug. 24 in Westfield on the softball fields at NorthLake, Smith and Westfield School. Entry fees must be in by Aug. 22.
The tournament will be a double elimination if there are more than 12 teams, and a round-robin format if there are 12 teams or less. This is a one-pitch, slow-pitch format with each batter starting with a 3-2 count. The entry fee is $250 per team. A payout based on 16 teams is $1,000 for first, $500 for second and $250 for third.
Any proceeds will go to the Woody Keyser fund.

The Dunkirk High School Sports Booster Club meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the outdoor concession stand by the Football Field.

Fredonia Fall Sports Practice Schedule
The fall sports season at Fredonia Central School gets under way Monday, Aug. 19. On that day, the following practices will be held:
Modified Girls Soccer: 9-11 a.m., soccer field
Varsity Girls Soccer: 9 a.m. to noon, soccer field
Girls Tennis 9-10:30 a.m., tennis courts
Girls Swimming: 10 a.m. to noon, pool
Modified Boys Soccer: 6 p.m., behind tennis courts
Varsity Boys Soccer: 6 p.m., behind tennis courts
Cross Country: 4 p.m., SUNY Fredonia Tin Man Hill
Modified Volleyball: 3:15-5 p.m., middle school gym
JV and Varsity Volleyball: 9 a.m. to noon, high school gym
Modified Volleyball: Aug. 29 from 3:15-5 p.m., middle school gym
JV and Varsity Football: 3-6:30 p.m., Wheelock School
All athletes must have their brown form completed and have had a sports physical.

Sunset Bay Experience
The Sunset Bay Experience day-long events and activities will be held today at The Sunset Bay Beach Club and Cabana Sam's Sunset Bay Grill in Irving.
The day will begin with the 4th Annual 5K Run and 2.5K Eugene "Large" Kopycinski Memorial Walk at 9:30 a.m. The race starts and ends at the Sunset Bay Beach Club. The course takes runners over Iola Drive, through Sunset Bay and down South Shore Drive, twice. Course maps and registration are available on the website at www.SunsetBayExperience.com.
After the race and refreshments, Cabana Sam's Sunset Bay Grill will hold a craft show. Unique beach glass jewelry, Avon and tupperware products will be on sale. Cabana Sam's will offer discounted drinks throughout the day with live music and "Minute-To-Win-It" games.

The Sunset Bay Volunteer Fire Department members will compete in the first "Sons of the Beach" Hose Race down Newton Avenue, with discounted drinks for volunteer firefighters (with ID and a driver's license) at the Sunset Bay Beach Club following the trophy ceremony.

Hammerhead Swim Club early registration will take place Aug. 19-20 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Fredonia State University Pool in Steele Hall.
The Chautauqua County Hockey Association will offer three levels of adult play this season. All games are played at Fredonia State University. The divisions are: A Division (advanced), B Division (intermediate) and C Division (novice).
Anyone interested in participating in any one of the three divisions or have any questions should contact Bill Anderson at 679-1665. The season begins Aug. 30.
Randy Goss Memorial Golf Tournament
The 13th Annual Randy Goss Memorial Golf Tournament will be played today at Rosebrook Golf Course, in Silver Creek.
The tournament is a two-person scramble, with all golfers asked to be at the course by 8 a.m. There will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The cost is $55 per golfer, which will include golf, cart, lunch, beverages, prizes for all golfers, closest-to-the-pin on all holes, skins and dinner at the course after golfing has been completed.
