Under blue skies, bright sun, and surrounded by grape vineyards, the Pagano family celebrated their 59th reunion. It was held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Willow Creek Winery in Sheridan. Approximately 125 family members and guests were in attendance, many of whom were born, raised, and attended the country schools in Sheridan. A welcome speech and prayer before dinner was given by Joseph Bowers.
Dinner by Beverly Pagano, Linda Williams, Jennifer Restivo, and Marianne Bowers was served at 1 p.m. Hot dogs cooked by Bruce Valvo, pizza, and wings were served at 4 p.m.
A prayer and moment of silence was observed for Mary Nigro, Marian Heaney, and Augustina Flint who passed away since the last reunion. Thoughts and prayers also went out to those in nursing homes and in the Armed Forces.

A meeting was held by Michael T. Pagano. A rotation of birthdays was celebrated for those born in May and June. The May birthdays included: Michael Caine, Marianne Bowers, Noah Restivo, and Ruth Dolce. The June birthdays included: Kathy Bifaro, Lucille Petrella, Biaggio Pagan, Roseann Carlson, Jackson VanStrom, and Dr. Paul Carlson. Everyone sang Happy Birthday.
The oldest male member present was Cedio Gizzi, while the oldest female member was Cecelia Petrella.
The youngest male present was Charles Pagano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael G. Pagano from Williamsville. The youngest female member was Cecelia Pagan, daughter of Mrs. Kathleen Pagan from Marysville, Ohio.
There was a three-way tie for first reservation received between Beverly Pagano, John and Joy Judski, and Charles Ricotta. Gift Certificates were presented to all winners.
Games and a bounce house for the children were organized by Michael Caine of Fredonia.
A horseshoe tournament was held in the afternoon. First place winners were Franklin W. Pagano and Dr. Paul Carlson, defending their title for the second year in a row. In a close run for second place were Michael T. Pagano and Michael Caine. All winners received ribbons and a money prize, and the first place pair took home trophies.
A 50/25/25 raffle was held. Winners included David Pagano and Miranda Pagano.
The member traveling the farthest was Tamalee Bifaro Shephard, from Hastings, Nebraska.
Guests were present from Alabama, Nebraska, North Carolina, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, and various cities and towns in New York state.
The committee for this year included: Lisa and John VanStrom, Michael and Kim Caine, Beverly Pagano, Michael T. Pagano, and Mary Lou Pagano.
The committee for the 60th Reunion to be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Willow Creek Winery will be: Steve and Kathy Pagano, Michael G. and Christina Pagano, Joe and Kathy Dolce, Beverly Pagano, Linda Williams, Michael T. Pagano, and Mary Lou Pagano.
The reunion ended with a visit from Brownie's Ice Cream truck for all to enjoy, compliments of Franklin W. Pagano.
