BROCTON - Approximately 70 family members attended the annual Milliman reunion held at the Brocton American Legion on Aug. 10. and enjoyed a pot-luck dinner. Guests attended from N.Y., Pa. and Ohio. Those traveling from the farthest location were Daryl Milliman and his children Jared, Justin and Jaidan. The youngest person present was Meredith Van Rensselaer, daughter of Brian and Melissa Van Rensselaer. Mary Ann Ellis was the oldest person present. The first response prize was given to Louis Kinney.
Games were conducted for the children by Leigh Milliman Fairweather and Debbie Milliman Henry. Games included a sawdust money-hunt, water balloon toss and egg toss. Everyone enjoyed the "White Elephant" auction, run by Fred, Chuck, Dan and Steve Milliman. Daryl Milliman won a carved lion created by Lewis Milliman. A silent auction was also conducted.
A business meeting was conducted by Fred Milliman after the presentation of the minutes.
The death of Thomas Milliman was announced. Steven Milliman of Portland was recognized for receiving his high school diploma from Chautauqua Lake Central School through the Operation Recognition Program.
All present enjoyed the day, sharing memories and conversation and looking at photographs. Next year's reunion will be held the second Saturday of August in the Leon area. The exact location will be announced later.
