Edward W. Pagano Sr., of Portland, NY, passed away on August 18, 2013, at the Chautauqua County Home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness at the age of 77.
Ed was the former owner of Pagano Tractor, Inc. in Sheridan. He volunteered for the Sheridan Fire Department and headed the youth recreation basketball program at St. John Bosco Church for many years. An avid sportsman throughout his life, he also belonged to many organizations. His greatest love was his family. He wad a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; Anita (Taddio) Pagano; three children, Edward (Kathryn) Pagano Jr.; Jacqueline (Edward Miller) Pagano; and William Pagano; one sister, Anita (Pagano) Monacelli; ten grandchildren, Bennedette Davis; Alexandria Kaminski; Kristen, Kelly, Nicholas, Will, Hunter and Emily Pagano; Missi and Tammy (Jim Cross) Miller; four great grandchildren, Kamali Jr. and Maximus Davis; John and Kyle Murphey; and Olivia Cross.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William T. Pagano and Frances (Nicosia) Pagano.
There will be no public visitation observed.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Silver Creek, NY, on Thursday, August 22 at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ed's name to the Alzheimer Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001, or to the Sheridan Fire Department.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave. in Silver Creek, NY.
