Hole-in-One at Pinehust
On Aug. 5, Trey North recorded his first career hole-in-one at Pinehurst Golf Course. He used an 8-iron to ace the 152-yard No. 4 hole. The shot was witnessed by his brother, Tyler North.
Lucky Lanes Junior Bowlers will hold an organizational meeting on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m., at Lucky Lanes.
The agenda will consist of discussion of league rules, the calendar, registration, USBC news and any new topics.
All coaches, volunteers, and interested persons are invited to attend. New bowlers and/or parents of new bowlers are also invited to attend.

In-Person Registration for FSU Hockey Camps Set for Monday
In-person registration for Fredonia State Hockey Camps will be held today. Interested participants will need to bring their equipment when they sign up.
There will be a small ice games camp for players aged 13-18 beginning at 8:30 a.m., while a regular hockey camp for players aged 5-12 will be on ice at 10 a.m.

Fredonia 14-U, 12-U
Travel Softball Tryouts
Tryouts for the Fredonia 14-U and 12-U travel softball team will be held on Sept. 7.
Girls trying out for the 14-U team will be on the field at 10 a.m., while those trying out for the 12-U team will be on the field at 12:30 p.m.
All interested players must have turned no older than 12 or 14 by Jan. 1, 2013.

The Chautauqua County Hockey Association will offer three levels of adult play this season. All games are played at Fredonia State University. The divisions are: A Division (advanced), B Division (intermediate) and C Division (novice).
Anyone interested in participating in any one of the three divisions or have any questions should contact Bill Anderson at 679-1665. The season begins Aug. 30.
Gowanda Soccer and Touch Football Begin in September
There will be two sports programs offered for Gowanda and surrounding area youths this fall that will begin on Sept. 9 and 11, respectively.
On Monday, Sept. 9, the co-ed soccer program for children ages 5-13 will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the George Dispenza Memorial Field on Broadway Road. This program will run for five consecutive Monday nights. Basic skills, group drills and games will take place each week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 11, a touch football program will take place at the same place and time. This program for children ages 8-13 will run for five consecutive Wednesday nights. Instruction will be given each week on specific skills to include: Throwing, catching, punting and kicking a football. Organized games according to age level will be held following the drill sessions.
