The Red, White and Blues Festival will be held Sept. 6-7 in downtown Fredonia.
Events will continue Saturday in Barker Common which will feature a farmer's market in addition to craft and food vendors. The Taste of Fredonia will once again be held but the location will be moved to the park closest to Day Street, a change from last year. Restaurants participating include Liberty Food and Spirits, The White Inn, Kangaroo Cafe, The Brick Room, and more. Participants will be able to purchase tickets for food samples. Wineries will also be in the park to give free samples and will be selling bottles of wine starting at 1 p.m. Participating wineries include Willow Creek Winery, Mazza Vineyards, Johnson Estate Winery, Liberty Vineyards & Winery, Winery of Ellicottville and 21 Brix Winery.
"I think this year we brought the (event) back to red and white wine. It's a big push for wineries to be back involved. Definitely will add to the participation and the draw (of the event)," Co-Chair Jim Nau said. "Hopefully the weather will be good."
To kick off Saturday, the AMVETS 9/11 Remembrance Run motorcycle run will start at 11:30 a.m. with registration starting at 10 o'clock. Throughout the day Saturday, live music will be featured at eight downtown bars starting at 1 p.m. Burdick said there will be live music every hour at a different bar downtown. The main act will be the Mick Hayes Band performing at the gazebo at 4 p.m.
"He's fairly local. He's a big up and coming recognizable act," Burdick said. "We're very excited about that."
The schedule of bands performing is as follows: Tommy Z Band at The White Inn at 1 p.m., The Electra's at Coughlans at 2 p.m., Harvey and The Hurricanes at Eastside Grille at 3 p.m., Mark Winsick Band at Lil Magill's at 6 p.m., Roll of the Dice at DeJohn's at 7 p.m., Coal Train at 41 West at 8 p.m., Jony James Blues Band at Ellicottville Brewing Co. at 9 p.m. and Mo Porter at Valentine's at 9:30 p.m.
All events will be held rain or shine. Last year the weather put a slight damper on festivities and delayed the Taste of Fredonia, but cleared up later in the evening.
"Everybody who came out at night (last year) had a good time. (The weather) cleared up," Burdick said.
