Patients who use The Resource Center's counseling services will be moving a few blocks up the road in September. The TRC's counseling and psychiatric services will move from the Lake Shore Drive location to a location on Third Street.
"We're just relocating to our other mental health facility in Dunkirk," said Steve Waterson, director for TRC community relations. "(They're moving) from one side of the railroad tracks to the other."
Waterson explained there are two mental health programs in both the cities of Dunkirk and Jamestown. The Lake Shore Drive location has counseling and psychiatric services that serve the community. The other program at 51 E. Third St. has services for patients with chronic mental illness.

The counseling and psychiatric services will be moved from The Resource Center’s Lake Shore Drive Facility. The last day is today.
"Basically it's a community counseling clinic. Anybody who wanted to have some counseling, anybody in the community could go there," said Waterson.
"The program over on East Third Street is called PROS, which stands for personalized recovery oriented services. It's better known as the Gateway PROS program. That is for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness."
With the move, all staffing will remain in place. All positions will be moving along with the clinic. Waterson said TRC is undergoing a current initiative to integrate different services from primary care to physical therapy and occupational therapy and employment services.
"We're looking at ways to consolidate and integrate some of the services. One of the first things that made sense was to co-locate the mental health programs," said Waterson. "This move is going to improve efficiencies of operation."
The space that the counseling services currently occupies at the Lake Shore Drive location will be utilized once the clinic moves. According to Waterson, TRC is in talks with a nonprofit organization to take over the space. The last day for the clinic to operate on Lake Shore Drive will be Friday. The move will take place over the holiday weekend and the clinic will be in operation at its Third Street location on Tuesday. An open house for the community will be planned once the move is complete. If anyone is interested in setting up an appointment or more information about the clinic, call 366-7660.
