Burglars of car, candy found

September 1, 2013
The OBSERVER

VERSAILLES - State troopers ended a weeklong burglary investigation on Aug. 28 after it was reported that trespassers entered a home on Water Street on Aug. 20. The burglars allegedly took two bottles of wine, $20 from a wallet, keys and a bag of Snickers and then took the homeowner's vehicle and fled the scene. Troopers were informed of an abandoned vehicle later in the week and verified it was the stolen car from Aug. 20. After a number of interviews, troopers charged three females from the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation with second-degree burglary. Two of them, both 16 years of age, were arraigned in Perrysburg Town Court and later turned over to family members. The other alleged burglar, 15, is due in Cattaraugus County Family Court in September.
