Celine Elizabeth (Zebraski) Sliwa, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013.
She was born on March 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Monica (Pauszek) Zebraski. She attended the St. Hyacinth's Catholic School and graduated from Dunkirk High School, Class of 1948. She was a member of Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish-St. Hyacinth's Church. She held offices in the Parent's Club of St. Hyacinth's School. She will be remembered as a warm and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Stanley Sliwa, her children, Kathy Sliwa, Stanley (Flora) Sliwa, Sylvia (Andy) LaCombe, James (Cynthia) Sliwa, John (Melanie) Sliwa and William (Lori) Sliwa; her grandchildren, Joseph (Renee) and Bekki Sliwa, Joseph and Matthew LaCombe, Elizabeth, Nicholas (Jordan) Sliwa and Zachary Sliwa; her great grandchildren, Zachary, Carilene and Nicholas Sliwa; her sisters, Clara Kochmanski, Freda Fuller, Dorothy Buffa and Sylvia Krystofik; and her brother, Herman (Janet) Zebraski. Nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant brother, Joseph.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish-St. Hyacinth's Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory can be made to St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.
