The value of Science

Rich Ryan, president of Fredonia Rotary and Eileen Lash, program chair, welcomed Dr. Mike Jabot to a recent meeting, where he gave a talk titled "I Never Knew." His presentation included how to best develop ideas in science across all age groups. He discussed views people have regarding energy in the state and the role science and the absence of science plays in making decisions. Dr. Jabot is a professor of science education in the department of Curriculum and Instruction and the director of the Institute for Research in Science Teaching at SUNY Fredonia. His most recent work was used to help shape the Next Generation Science Standards.
