Excitement is building as the Cassadaga Valley Central School District readies itself for the 75th anniversary of the district. The schedule is in place for the events for the weekend:
Friday, Oct. 11
Opening Ceremony at the high school: 9:30 a.m. Plaque dedication " Service to Country."
The Cassadaga Valley Faculty Association presents a donation to the 75th Anniversary Committee for the upcoming weekend of events to be held Oct. 11-13.
Soccer Game: 4:30 at CVCS
Friday Meet and Greet: 7:30 at the Cassadaga Legion on Maple Street
Saturday, Oct. 12
Tours of the high school: Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for tours at 10, 10:30 and 11 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Meet by back doors for handicapped accessibility. The first tour is aimed especially for early members of the CVCS district so that a group photograph may be taken.
Football game: 1:30 p.m. Randolph at CVCS
Dinner shift 1: 4:30 p.m.
Dinner shift 2- 5:30
Band and choral event- 7 p.m.
Prom: 8:30 p.m. (Old gym)
Sunday, Oct. 13
Ecumenical service: 10:30 a.m. (auditorium)
Brunch: 11:30 a.m. (cafeteria)
Those wishing to make reservations for the CVCS favorite dinner of mashed potatoes with hamburg gravy, tossed salad, vegetable and homemade sweet roll, call 962-8581 to make a reservation by Oct. 1. The cost is $6.
Former CVCS students are encouraged to participate in the Sunday Choir. Practice will be held.
Others may wish to participate in the combined Band & Chorus.
Practices include :
Jazz Band : Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Concert Band : Oct. 2 and Oct. 10 from 6:30 -8:30 p.m.
Chorus : Call 962-8581, Ext. 121 to leave a voice mail for Mr. Braeger with your name and contact information.
Any class wishing to have a table to display memorabilia at the Saturday event should. reserve a spot with Marie Martin by calling 595-8727 or emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will not be enough tables to accommodate those who do not make a reservation.
The 75th committee would also like to offer all graduates of CVCS the opportunity to showcase the many spectacular achievements which are indicative of "The Valley." If any graduate, through further education or other life experiences, authored a book, built upon a talent, created an outstanding organization, or in some other fashion resulted in a unique product, we would encourage you to display your efforts at the 75th Anniversary Celebration.
