John H. Nichols, Sr., 90, passed away September 15th, 2013 in Tampa, FL.
Born October 21, 1922 in Oil City, PA, he was one of eight children of Charles and Sara (Tarr) Nichols. He is survived by brother Frank of Portland.
After living many years in the Chautauqua County area, John moved to Florida from Brocton in 1970 and spent his many retirement years in Florida, New York, Arizona and Mississippi.

He was a proud member of the 101st Airborne Division during WWII and was injured while parachuting into Normandy during the D-Day invasion in 1944.
He was married to Mar-gery Meckley (deceased) for 14 years; Doris Newell for 3 years; and Carol Fix (deceased) for 44 years. He had 15 children: sons Larry (Holly) Nichols, Fairview, PA; John Jr. (Noralyn), Brandon, FL; David A., Douglasville, GA; Chuck, Diamond Head, MS; James, St. Petersburg, FL; Richard (infant deceased); David N., Roches-ter, NY; Jerry, Mayville, NY; Christopher, Coeur d'Alene, ID; and Keith, Hudson, FL; and daughters Margery "Ann" Osborne (deceased) (Robert); Dborah (David) Copolillo, Archer, FL; Jeanette Nichols, NY; Carol "Sandy" (Mark) Przybylak, Sloan, NY; and Laura Nosbisch, Angola, NY. He has over 35 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
