Edward J. Herrmann, 73, of Silver Creek, NY, died Monday morning Sept. 23, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born May 27, 1940 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Edward A. and Dorothy (Pellette) Herrmann.
Ed was a graduate of Bishop Timon High School. He worked as a supervisor at the GM plant in Buffalo.

An avid fisherman, he was a huge Sabres, Bills and New York Yankees fan. In his younger years, he played catcher for various professional baseball teams. Ed loved music from the '50s and '60s. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lucinda (Mekus) Herrmann; two sons, Edward (Beth) Herrmann of Norfolk, VA, and Mark (Hannah) Herrmann of Silver Creek, NY; a daughter, Bonita (Jerry) Herrmann-Navin of Naples, Fla.; two step-daughters, Susan Robinson of Dunkirk, NY, Michelle Sheedy-Rossman of Silver Creek; two stepsons, Kenneth Robinson of Port Richey, Fla., and Joseph Sheedy of Erie, Pa.; two brothers, Richard Herrmann of Memphis, Tenn., and Michael (Dianne) Herrmann of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Soda of Hamburg, NY and Peggy (Jack) Herrmann-Novak of Buffalo, NY; 15 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dog, Pax and cat, Tuxx.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Marie Herrmann. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY where a Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
