Patricia A. Fiegl, 77, of Dunkirk, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital's Hospice Unit with her husband Dennis by her side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Patricia was born on April 30, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Wallace R. and Muriel M. (Martin) Cave and lived her entire lifetime in the
She attended elementary and high school in Fredonia.
Patricia worked many years at Dunkirk Ice Cream and retired from Ralston Purina.
She enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with friends she previously worked with. In addition, a group of family members and friends began hosting dinners in their homes and dining in local restaurants over a span of 20 years. Patricia and Dennis looked forward to celebrating their children's birthdays at their home and she would always make their favorite desserts. It was tradition that they hosted Christmas Eve dinner for the family and enjoyed welcoming the addition of grandchildren to the festivities.
Patricia had a passion for various collections that meant a lot to her, as well as cooking and acquiring the latest cookbooks, as she was an excellent cook (especially looking forward to dessert any time). She also enjoyed her annual May garage sale, which she had done for over 25 years.
Patricia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fredonia with the Rev. William Novack ministering to her during the past several weeks.
She is survived by her loving husband Dennis "Harvey" Fiegl, whom she married on May 25, 1985, a son Robert (Diane) Genung of Brocton, NY, a daughter Linda (late John) Eggleston and daughter-in-law Charleen (late Dennis Genung) and
husband Don Kelleher.
Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: Christine (Scott Jagoda) Eggleston, Lea (Trevor St. George) Genung, Rachael (Jon Yerico) Genung,
Christine Rondenelli and Angela Scheer and great-grandchildren Nolan Moore and Sydney Yerico.
Patricia is survived by sisters Joyce E. (Arthur) Purol and Nancy L. (late Charles) Larson, both of Dunkirk, and step-brother James O'Brian of Huntington, NY.
She was predeceased by her loving father and mother-in-law, David and Lillian Fiegl, son-in-law John Eggleston, brother-in-law Charles "Chuck" Larson, great-grandson Riley Reshaw, step-brother John O'Brian and step-mother Jane O'Brian Cave Mahle, along with several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc., 56 E.
Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY. Burial will be in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, NY.
