The Fredonia Rotary Club is actively seeking students to participate in their Youth Exchange Program for the upcoming 2014-15 school year. This program is open to students ages 15-19. Applicants should be students who are in good academic standing, and who demonstrate leadership in their community. Youth exchanges generally are for a year, during which time you attend school and live with several different families from the host country. This is so the student can gain a better understanding of the culture, as well as offering the student more opportunities to experience their time abroad. Often, the friendships the exchange student forms with people from their host country, become friendships that last a lifetime. Plus, what a great way to see the world.
Parents, students, and others who know someone who might be interested in becoming a Youth Exchange student, or those wanting more information about the Youth Exchange program, can contact Joseph Reyda at firstname.lastname@example.org , or at 679-1581, extension 2702.
Doug Manly, member of the Fredonia Rotary Youth Exchange program, introduces, Fernando Santa Maria, this year’s exchange student from Madrid, Spain, to the club.
