Westfield Youth Basketball Signups
Area boys and girls in grades 1-2 and boys in grades 3-8 may sign up for Youth Basketball on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McDonald's Restaurant.
Start date is Saturday, Nov. 2. The fee is $20 for the first player in a family, $15 for a second and $10 for the third. ($45 max. per family). Scholarship assistance is available.

Starting in September, the Pilates Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Eason Hall.
Walkers are welcome to use the Eason Hall Auditorium when it is available.
Adult Co-ed Volleyball will take place on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. at Westfield School half gym.
Wednesday Travel League
Tony Nicosia edged Ed Tofil 74-75 for the low round at Green Meadows Golf Course in North East, Pa. Nicosia's par on the final hole cinched the victory. Nicosia and Paul Olkowski each shot the low front nine score with 37 while Nicosia and Tofil each shot the low back nine score with 37. Dave Miller was the B Flight winner and Ken Kaus was the C Flight winner. The winner of the Commissioner's Award was Len Leszkowicz.
Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight: Nicosia (Nos. 2 and 7), Olkowski (No. 3), Tim Walawender (Nos. 4, 14 and 17), Kerry Murphy (Nos. 6 and 15) and Tofil (No. 13); B Flight: Justin Tworek (Nos. 1 and 9), Mick Dunning Sr. (No. 2), John Waterman (Nos. 4, 5 and 16), Miller (No. 6), Jeff Kubera (Nos. 8 and 13) and John Bongiovanni (No. 15); C Flight: Leszkowicz (No. 2), Bob Manning (No. 4), Kaus (Nos. 7, 9, 10, 12 and 15) and Gary Haase (No. 17).
Closest to the pin were Olkowski (No. 3), Kubera (No. 13) and Joe Michalski (No. 16). Olkowski's tee-shot on No. 3 stopped less than five inches from the hole. Top point winners were Kubera (37), Olkowski (33), Nicosia (30) and Walawender (24). Season points leaders: 1) Tofil (504), 2) Bob Thompson (382), 3) Michalski (379), 4) Dave Franklin (354) and 5) Dave Criscione(344).
Next week the league travels to Chautauqua Golf Club to play the Lake Course. Tee-off is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Access 12 TV will be airing the Gowanda at Fredonia high school football game at 7:15 tonight on channel 5 in Fredonia and channel 12 in Dunkirk. Ed Eaker will be calling the play-by-play along with Greg Krauza.
