First United Presbyterian Church in Dunkirk last day of rummage sale
The First United Presbyterian Church of Dunkirk Ladies' Guild is holding the second day of their fall rummage sale today from 9 a.m. to noon at Westminster Hall, 410 Eagle St. Parking is available in the lot next to the church. Money raised from the sale will be used to support local, national and global missionary work.
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua
The Reverend Terry Kime will speak this Sunday, at 11 a.m. in the Grange Hall, 58 W. Main St. Fredonia. Her subject is "Awe" the theme for the month of October. In addition, there will be a guest time traveler with a story for all ages.
Child care and religious exploration classes are available for children.
Rosary Society of BMA sponsors Living Rosary
The Rosary Society of Blessed Mary Angela Parish is sponsoring "The Living Rosary" on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the St. Hyacinth worship site at 295 Lakeshore Drive East in Dunkirk.
The Living Rosary is a tribute to the Mother of Jesus Christ. The Blessed Mother Mary appeared to three children at Fatima, Portugal in 1917, asking them and everyone to pray and promote the recitation of the Rosary for world peace. Everyone is welcome at this event. A reception will follow in the parish lyceum.
St. John's United Church of Christ "Germanfest"
St. John's United Church of Christ will host "Germanfest" on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will include a themed basket raffle, live entertainment and more. Tickets are $10 each and can be reserved by calling 366-0710. The church is located at 733 Central Ave. in Dunkirk. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate one of Dunkirk's proud cultures.
St. Joseph Church in Gowanda welcomes Frank Runyeon Oct. 25
"Luke: Stories on the Road," a Frank Runyeon Production, will be presented on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, 26 Erie Ave., Gowanda. Admission is free; however, voluntary donations will be greatly appreciated. Light refreshments will be served in the church hall, where Runyeon will mingle with guests. Runyeon has received national acclaim for his dramatic adaptations of Bible stories. Some of his notable works include "Sermon on the Mount;" "AFRAID: The Gospel of Mark;" "SIGNS: The Gospel of John;" "What Are You Doing? The Letter of James;" and "The 3 1/2 Stores of Christmas." Everyone is welcome at this fun and informative event.
Perrysburg/Dayton United Methodist Church Falling Leaves Bazaar planned
The Perrysburg/Dayton United Methodist Church, located on Route 39 in Perrysburg, will hold its annual fall bazaar and roast beef dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., each include a hot roast beef sandwich, green beans, coleslaw and homemade pie. The cost is $7.50 per meal.
Themed baskets, baked goods and candy, plants, decorations, new and used items, and a quilt raffle will be available.
Portland Congregational Church chicken and biscuit dinner
A Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the Portland Congregational Church Wednesday will be on Oct 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out. The menu is: chicken & biscuit, mashed potatoes & gravy, tossed salad, vegetable, dessert and drink. Take outs are available. The church is handicapped accessible.
St. Joseph's Church multiplechoir concert
The 23rd annual "The Harvest is Plentiful" Concert will take place at St. Joseph's Church, 145 E. Main St. in Fredonia on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. This concert is a joint effort of St. Joseph Church Voice and Handbell Choirs from Fredonia and Saints Columbia/Brigid Gospel Choir from Buffalo. The performance will be fun and inspirational for all ages. All are welcome; admission is free.
