Bernard Feldmann Jr. has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties as their candidate for the position of Town of Hanover Councilman.
Feldmann (Bernie) and his wife, Eileen, reside in Hanford Bay and have 5 children: Katie, Andy, John, James and Michael, and one grandchild, Patrick.
Feldmann retired in 2011 from the New York State Police after a distinguished 29-year career, which included receiving numerous service awards and commendations, as well as Trooper of the Year and Investigator of the Year honors. While employed by the State Police, he served in the following capacities: Trooper for 7 years, back room investigator in the BCI for 9 years, narcotics investigator and supervisor in the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force for 3 years, Special investigations Unit Investigator counter terrorism/smuggling for 3 years, regional coordinator for the EAP, serving the 14 western counties of NYS for 7 years. Additionally, he served 6 years as a Union delegate for NYSPIA.
Currently, Feldmann is the head men's soccer coach at Erie Community College and the interim head women's soccer coach.
He is a former Silver Creek Little League baseball coach and a current youth soccer coach for Blackwatch ST.
Feldmann is a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish, where he serves as a lector, eucharistic minister and religious education teacher to the churches of St. Rose of Lima in Forestville and OLMC in Silver Creek.
Feldmann states, "I believe that government should be responsible to the people that elected it. We need an efficient, yet prudent council that will hold the line on both taxes and spending whenever possible while providing effective services for the people of the Town of Hanover". He also believes in the future of Hanover through the preservation of our time honored traditions, blended with the responsible development of industry and business.
Feldmann states, "I believe that together we can create a town that remains rich in small town values, yet vibrant and financially stable for generations to come.
