MAYVILLE - The terminal building at the Jamestown Airport should have a new roof by the end of the year.
The Chautauqua County Legislature's Public Facilities Committee unanimously approved a motion to adjust capital appropriations Tuesday, for a roof replacement on the terminal building.
According to the resolution, the county's capital budget already includes $149,350 for the installation of the new roof. However, George Spanos, director of public facilities for the county, told the committee more than a year has passed since the initial project estimate and when the project was put out to bid.
The total cost to replace the roof will be $190,120, a total of $40,770 more than originally anticipated. As a result, the committee approved transferring the $40,770 out of the capital appropriation to be used for the project.
Spanos said once the funding is approved, the new roof should be completed by the end of the year.
The committee also tabled a resolution establishing a county water agency.
