October 19, 2013
Submitted Photo , The OBSERVER

The J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post of Forestville recently joined forces with Hanover Historian Vince Martonis to once again beat back the encroaching brush and small trees at Nashville Cemetery, which is south of Route 39 on Allegany Road. The Legion plans to make this an annual event. Plans are in the works for Riles & Woolley of Forestville to begin repair work on many of the gravestones. Repairs on the first five gravestones are being funded by one of the descendants of a family buried there and were arranged by Martonis.
