In an effort to remind the community that most of the stores on the Boardwalk at the City Pier remain open after the summer season, the merchants of the Boardwalk are scheduling a fall festival to take place at the Boardwalk on Saturday and Sunday.
The merchants sponsoring this event are Tower Gifts, Blind Tiger, Water's Edge Gifts, Spike Daily's Pub, The Original Brown Bean and Papaya Arts.
The festival has activities for both children and adults. There will be a pumpkin painting contest for children on Saturday at 2 p.m. There will be live music from 4 to 6 p.m.

Businesses at the Boardwalk City Pier will hold a festival Oct. 26-27 to show they are open past the summer season.
On Sunday, there will be a contest for the best costume for both children and adults at 2 p.m. There will also be live music from 4-6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded both days.
The merchants will be competing against each other in a chili cookoff. Each merchant will cook their own chili, which the public is encouraged to taste and then vote for their favorite. The winner will defend their title in a chili cookoff later in the year, where the public will be invited to enter their own chili.
Papaya Arts, Water's Edge Gifts and Tower Gifts all have quality products, including many seasonal items, and attendees are encouraged to shop at these fine local shops. The Blind Tiger will be offering specials on German beers to commemorate Oktoberfest, and has many seasonal craft beers to offer as well. Spike Daily's will have specials on cider, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and will also be selling sausage and sauerkraut sandwiches. Buy a warm coffee or cider from the Original Brown Bean to keep you warm!
All are encouraged to stop in.
In case of rain on Saturday, all events will be held on Sunday.
