Halloween parade scheduled Saturday for Laona/Town of Pomfret
The annual Halloween parade for Laona/Town of Pomfret will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. The parade will start in the Laona Cemetery at the Webster Road side entrance. Participants will go to the playground from there to have judging of the costumes and prizes. The annual 50/50 raffle will be held with proceeds going toward the Laona Easter Egg Hunt. First Presbyterian Church to hold Mexican foods dinner
The First Presbyterian Church at 49 S. Portage St. in Westfield will hold a "Mexican Fiesta Harvest Dinner" on Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children 10 and younger. All dinners include a beverage and homemade dessert. Sit-down, take-out and delivery available. For delivery, call 326-2643 by noon the day of the dinner. Cassadaga Legion and Cub Scout Pack 219 plan food drive
The Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary, along with Cub Scout Pack 219 in Cassadaga, will conduct a food drive on Saturday to celebrate Make A Difference Day. This will be the 11th annual food drive for Make A Difference Day that the groups have conducted. Community members are asked to have their donations of food on their front porches or stoops by 9 a.m. that day, when the Cub Scouts will start collecting. Be generous to neighbors in need. circles presentation set
"The Sacred Geometry of Crop Circles" will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday by guest lecturer Fred Rusher at the Church of the Living Spirit, Assembly Hall, Cleveland Ave, Lily Dale The program offered free of charge, focuses on Rusher's research and is based on "The Keys of Enoch," by Dr. J.J. Nurtak. Rusher, owner of Geo-Cosmetic Arts, uses crop circle photographs to recreate the sacred geometry in various metals, stones and wood. His talk also covers healing properties linked to sacred geometry.
