Marie Ann DiMaggio (Testa), 87, of Venice, FL, formerly of Fredonia, NY, passed away peacefully, in the presence of her family Thursday, October 24, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Theresa DiMaggio of Fredonia, NY and Lorraine (DiMaggio) Schroeder (Joseph), of Palmetto, FL; her sister, Gloria Cannizzaro of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren Kristian Schlia of Fredonia, NY, John Schlia of Rochester NY, Elizabeth Hardy of Bradenton, FL, and Jason (Bridgette) Schroeder of Palmetto, FL, Shane (Karen) Schroeder of Miami, FL, and Jennifer Schroeder of Huntington Beach, CA. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. DiMaggio Sr.; her son, Russell John DiMaggio Jr.; and her parents, Joseph and Rose (Augello) Testa of Buffalo, NY.

Marie was a business owner with her husband, Russell, and together they operated The Pantry Deli-catessen in Fredonia, NY from 1947-1985. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony's in Fredonia and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice. Marie also worked for a time as a secretary for Star Winery in Fredonia as well as a library clerk for BOCES.
Marie had a passion for cooking for her family and friends.
She taught Adult Gourmet Cooking classes at BOCES for years. She had her own cooking show on TV from her own kitchen, "Marie's Creative Kitchen." This passion led her to enjoy multiple trips to Italy where she studied Italian cooking.
A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. DiMaggio's life will be held at a later date in Fredonia.
