BUFFALO - The Dunkirk-Fredonia-Silver Creek girls swim team competed Thursday at the Section 6 preliminaries held at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College.
Deidra Osula was DFSC's top swimmer with two fifth-place finishes. Osula took fifth in the 100-meter butterfly (:59.88) and the 50 freestyle (:24.84). Osula was also part of the 400-freestyle relay, along with teammates Mikayla Reynolds, Katie Webster and Riley Drummond, which finished in 10th place and broke the Fredonia High School record with a time of 3:51.63. In total, DFSC has broken the school record in all three relay events this season.
"It was really exciting," DFSC coach Joanne Lotter said about her record-setting relay team. "(The relay team) is three freshmen and one eight grader so the best is yet to come and we were excited by how fast they swam."
