GOWANDA - John F. Regan, 88, of Maple Avenue, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013.
John was born May 31, 1925 in Yonkers, NY, the son of the late Dennis and Mary (Sweikert) Regan. He was the husband of nearly 53 years to the late Virginia (Madden) Regan.
A United States Veteran, John honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include seven children, Mary P., Dennis P. (Suzanne), Mark P., Kevin M. (Carol) and Timothy J., all of Gowanda, Justin E. (Val) of Thornton, Co., and Eileen A. (R. Joseph) Dibble of King George, Va.; grandchildren Justin, Kelly, Anne, Kathleen, Brian, Michelle, Tho-mas, Molly, Tristan and Ian; a great grandson, Luke; a brother, Eugene Regan; a sister, Margaret; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother, Justin, and a sister, Mary Alice.

John's Funeral will be held Tues-day, November 12, 2013 at 10 a.m., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Joseph's RC Church, 90 E. Main St., Gowanda (assemble at the church). Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Gowanda. Fr. Joseph Porpiglia will be the celebrant.
