A crash Monday evening has claimed the life of a Dunkirk woman.
Lea Genung, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene following an accident on Route 20 just after 8:30 p.m.
According to New York State Police at Fredonia, police responded in the town of Pomfret for a two-car motor vehicle accident about 1/10 of a mile west of Harmon Hill Road.

A Dunkirk woman was killed in an accident on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret Monday evening. According to police, the roadways were very icy and slippery at the time of the accident.
Genung was traveling west on Route 20 when she crossed the double line and collided with a pickup truck driven by Darrin Stott, 45, of Forestville who was traveling east. She was pronounced dead by Chau-tauqua County Coroner Rick Mackowiak.
Stott complained of back pain at the scene and was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital. No charges were filed.
Police said the road was very slippery with heavy snow and icy at the time of the accident.
Fredonia Fire Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene. The investigation is still continuing.
