November 15, 2013
The OBSERVER

Two men were fishing on Walnut Creek in the village of Silver Creek Thursday when the older man began to have a heart attack. According to Silver Creek Fire Chief Jeff Griewisch, the fire department responded to the call. He said CPR was in progress and the department needed to determine where they were. Silver Creek, along with Sunset Bay and Forestville fire departments responded to the access road at the top of Burgess Street. Silver Creek Assistant Fire Chief Brandyn Griewisch and Forestville Assistant Fire Chief Kyle Barthel continued CPR until the man could be rescued and brought up the bank in Forestville's ATV rescue sled. The man was taken by Alstar Ambulance to the hospital, but Chief Griewisch was unsure of his condition as of Thursday night.
