Myrtle I. Warren, 93, of Dunkirk died Wednesday evening (Nov. 13, 2013) at the Chautauqua County Home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1920 on the family farm in South Dayton, NY, the daughter of the late Orson and Bertha (Volk) Ruckh.
Mrs. Warren had been employed at Alco Products and then Fredonia State University Faculty Student Association for 22 years, where she was a Faculty Dame and managed their dining halls.

Myrtle and her husband had resided on Deer Street in Dunkirk for many years. She had been a resident at the Chautauqua County Home for 4 1/2 years, where she received wonderful loving care.
An avid bowler for many years, she enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family and also was a great cook.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Jack) Peterson of Dunkirk and Sandy Warren-Henderson of Fredonia; one son, Gary (Mercy) Warren of Westfield; one sister, Helen Szymanski of South Dayton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Shorty" Warren, who died in 2000; three brothers, Donald, Vernon and Robert Ruckh; and two sisters, Dorothy Farnham and Marge Szymanski.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Pastor Judy Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9 to 11, two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
