Rescue workers were called to the Dunkirk Pier after a truck rolled into Lake Erie.
A witness, who asked not to be identified, said he saw the aftermath of the accident and heard from the owner what happened. "I heard the owner thought the pick-up was in park, and as he got out the truck started rolling, so he just let it go.
"I saw the front of the truck submerged in the water with its tail end hanging on the pier," he continued. "There were a lot of people down by the accident watching what happened."
The owner's name has not been released.
The Dunkirk Police Department said it did not have a report and would not comment on the incident.
