The Chautauqua County Vegetarian-Vegan Society will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. at the YWCA, 58 South Portage Street, Westfield. The evening's program will be a holiday get-together. The group will enjoy finger foods, listen to holiday music, play a food-related game or quiz, and win small prizes.
The menu for the dinner will be holiday finger food pot luck. Those coming are invited, but not required, to bring a finger food to share which will serve 8 to 12 people, as well as the recipe. Some suggestions are party sandwiches; raw veggies with (or without) dip; fresh fruit; nuts and dried fruits; cookies. All food should be vegan (no meat, eggs, milk, butter or other dairy products used in preparing it), organic if possible, and able to be eaten off a paper plate. The cost is $6.00, or free for those bringing a dish to share. For more information or to make a reservation, call Gail Erb at 753-7761 (days or weekends), 753-2205 (evenings) or Anne Watkins at 782-4334 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All meetings are open to the public. To attend a meeting, being a vegetarian or vegan is not necessary. Anyone interested in learning about healthy eating and living is welcome. The Vegetarian Society provides information and support for individuals seeking to explore healthy eating through vegetarian, vegan or raw food lifestyles.
