Area municipalities can take previous plans off the shelf. You can even revisit them.
But no matter what you do with that comprehensive plan, be aware that if Chautauqua County continues on the same path of multiple governments, too many school districts and taxing entities, trustees are wasting their time.
No comprehensive plan that we are aware of fixes high taxes and fees levied by area governments. Recently, both the town of Hanover and village of Fredonia officials talked about looking at the plans again.
Maybe to give the appearance of trustees actually doing something. Or maybe to give the appearance of wanting to fix some current wrongs.
Looks, however, in this case are very deceiving. Nothing will change - comprehensive plan or not - without a reduction of taxes so private investment can happen.
