Kristin Mackowiak and Paul Rutkowskiwere united in marriage on Sept. 21, 2013 in a double-ring ceremony at the Old Orchard Inn in East Aurora. Justice of the Peace David Zastrow officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Richard Mackowiak, Jr. of Dunkirk and Barbara Fenton of Tonawanda. The groom is the son of Edward Rutkowski of Dickson City, Pa.
The bride was escorted by her parents. She wore a white metallic jewel encrusted corset bodice with metallic accents featuring an asymmetrical horsehair grand-tiered ballgown skirt.
Kelly Mackowiak of Tonawanda, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kara Mackowiak of Tonawanda, sister of the bride, and Nicole Smith of Canandaigua, friend of the bride. The maid of honor wore a floor length violet satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a rhinestone broach. The bridesmaid's dresses were the same style but in cobalt. Avery Smith, daughter of Nicole, was the flower girl.
Joseph Piskunowicz, friend of the groom, served as best man. Friends of the groom Gary Van Wertman of Pine Knolls Shores, N.C., and Rich Shaw of Cherry Hill, N.J. were ushers. R. Michael Mackowiak III, brother of the bride was the junior groomsman.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Lucarelli's Banquet Hall in Lackawanna.
The bride graduated from Dunkirk High School and from SUNY Fredonia. She works as a customer service representative for Penn Foster Education.
The groom graduated from Bishop Hannan High School, The University of Scranton, and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a physician and Associate Program Director of Hospital Medicine at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Pennsylvania. The couple lives in Old Forge, Pa.
They are planning a honeymoon for the spring.
