Robert Joseph Brown, age 56, of Tabor City, N.C., formerly of Fredonia, NY died unexpectedly Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2014) at his residence.
He was born in Dunkirk, NY on Feb. 7, 1957, the son of James M. and Joanna (Bonasera) Brown.
A 1975 graduate of Fredonia High School, Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. He was self-employed as a heavy printing machinery repairman.
Bob had a laidback personality. He enjoyed fishing, was a jack-of-all-trades, and was best known for his carpentry.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Robert Joseph Brown; brothers Thomas (Cindy) Brown, John Brown, Peter (Laurie) Brown, William David (Jeffrey) Brown; sisters Mary (J. Robert) Rogers, twin Janet (Tom) St.George, Debora (Charles) Frazita; his loving fiancee, Lisa Sarvis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, James M. Brown III.
A 10 a.m. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at the Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn., www.Americanheart.org.
Arrangements are by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek.
