The Chautauqua County Legislature will hold a special meeting to look at a new proposal to sell the County Home in Dunkirk. Legislature Chairman Jay Gould announced the special session for Feb. 5, according to a report from WDOE today.
Gould said the meeting will allow lawmakers to get details of the proposal and directly ask the buyer about their credentials and how they would run the facility. Gould would not say who the prospective buyer is because they are about a "day away" from finalizing a tentative deal with County Executive Vince Horrigan.
Earlier this month Horrigan said that negotiations were underway between the county and a prospective buyer.
