As part of its National Catholic School Week celebration, Northern Chautauqua Catholic School held a basketball game between the 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. The entire student body was present. The girls were victorious by a score of 19 to 10.
A veneration service of Blessed Pope John Paul II was held. An actual relic was present at the service.
A live auction will be held in the gym at 6 p.m. today. The community is encouraged to donate and come to bid on the chairs painted by the student body and the other items available including Buffalo Sabres tickets, autographed pictures, Dr. Phil show passes, Disney Hopper passes, an overnight stay at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, and books. There are also tickets for students to be principal for a day. There will be live music with Gina V. and Barry Edwards. Free refreshments are available.
The school is hosting an Open House Thursday, Feb. 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
