John Bertin Larson, Jr., age 74, of Lily Dale, NY, formerly of Royal Oak, MI, passed from this life with family by his side on February 21, 2014 after living with Alzheimers dementia for several years.
He was the beloved husband of Natalie Larson.
He was predeceased by daughter, Laurie Lynne Larson in 2007, and his former wife and mother of his children, Sharon Kaye Larson.
He is survived by his brother, Norman Larson of South Carolina; daughter Linda Kaye Larson of Ster-ling Heights, Michigan and son John Bertin (Beth) Larson III of Macomb, Michigan and granddaughter Rachel Larson, several nieces and nephews, stepson Mark (Alicia) Landy of Winsted, Connecticut and their children, Kai, Ella, and Brett, also stepdaughter Trisha (Tom) Rogers of James-town, North Carolina and their children, Morgan Dahlin and Drew Shetland.
John graduated in the Class of 1959 from Royal Oak George A. Dondero High School and attended the Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Michigan in 1961. He developed many friend-ships during his life as a volunteer fireman in Troy, Michigan and while working for the U.S. postal service in Royal Oak, Michigan and for Piche and Sons in the Royal Oak and Birmingham areas. John also worked for a time at the Fisher Mansion in Michigan. In 1978, he started J.B. Larson Construction Company and blessed many people with his creativity for remodeling and building homes. He was truly a gifted carpenter and could make and repair every-thing. He loved sailing, traveling and working as well as singing in the choir at his Lutheran church in Michigan and in 1994 was ordained a Spiritualist minister at Fellowships of the Spirit in Lily Dale, NY. He will be missed by many.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at Fellowships Lake-side Learning Center, Dale Drive, Cassadaga, NY on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 1 p.m.
