Thanks to the generosity of Dave Schmeh, his friends and his customers, the dogs at Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will be enjoying canned food for the next several months.
NCCR recently received the news that Dave Schmeh of Final Communications Computer Repair and Service on Central Avenue in Silver Creek had organized a canned food drive in support of the shelter. Getting the word out through Facebook, he called on his friends and customers to donate canned dog food.
Canned food is one of those big expenses the shelter can't always afford, so this donation was certainly very much appreciated.
Dave Schmeh is pictured with the newest addition to his household, little Lexi, along with just some of the donations he collected for NCCR.
Schmeh collected over 500 cans of food for NCCR, plus treats, detergent and dog toys.
Schmeh and Lisa Smith recently adopted Lexi from the NCCR shelter which is located at 7540 N. Gale Street in Westfield.
Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will have an Open House, Saturday April 19 from noon to 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend, whether interested in becoming a volunteer, adopting a dog, or just checking out the facilities.
For information about the open house or any of the dogs or puppies currently available at NCCR, go online to www.caninerescue.org, call 326-PAWS or visit the facility and dogs Monday-Friday 1-3 p.m.
