Railroad ties that have been placed across the city of Dunkirk bike trail on Point Drive North near Chestnut Street are temporary, according to Department of Public Works Director Tony Gugino. "National Grid called and let us know they've been using that site. They're doing ongoing training ... they've had two training sessions so far ... to learn how to handle 330,000 volts of electricity doing high-wire training," Gugino told Common Council recently. "They're temporary. I think there's one more training session scheduled. They also know if there's any damage to the pad and the grounds that they will remediate it."
