The Leon Historical Society has released its summer schedule, and has a diverse and interesting group of events planned.
On May 26, the Memorial Day parade will take place at 9 a.m. Participants will march to the cemetery, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. The honor roll of those who served in the military will be read to conclude the program.
A Quilting Bee is scheduled for June 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Historical Church at the four corners in Route 62, Leon. It will feature Willow Creek Quilters and Amish Quilts and Goods. Crafters and Flea Marketers are welcome.

July 24-26 celebrates National Day of the Cowboy Wagon Train with a "Come Ride With Us" opportunity. Drivers and riders are welcome. The cost is $10 per person per day to ride or drive or $10 for a seat to ride on a wagon. Food will be available or you can bring your own. There will be nightly entertainment. Primitive wagon camping spots are available. Reservations are needed by July 14. Please contact Luke at 225-2270. July 26 is also History Day around the Church.
The annual Town Picnic is planned for Aug. 23. Everyone should bring a dish to pass.
On Sept. 27, Down Home Days will be celebrated. Sign-up for the driving and riding obstacle courses begins at 7 a.m. The sign-up for the small livestock obstacle course starts at 9 a.m.
