WACS Drama Club presents 'The Princess and the Pauper: Manhattan' today
On Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m., the Westfield High School Drama Club will be presenting an original play "The Princess and the Pauper: Manhattan" by senior Lucy Knappenberger in the Westfield School auditorium.
The story is a contemporary re-telling of the "Prince and the Pauper" fable and switches the lives of two young women Angie, a poor kind hearted girl, and Evangeline, a spoiled rich brat. As well, there is a bit of intrigue, counterfeiting and spying. The entire production from direction to set and lighting design has been done by Westfield students. The author and director, Lucy Knappenberger, is a senior at Westfield and has been accepted into the SUNY-Fredonia BFA program in acting. Admission is free.
Book talk on WNY steelmaking Monday
The history of Western New York Steel will be discussed at a book talk on Monday, April 28, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Japanese Garden Room in Reed Library.
SUNY Fredonia alumnus Spencer Morgan will discuss his recently published book, "Western New York Steel." As a former curator for the Steel Plant Museum of Western New York, he will talk about the history of Western New York steel and reflect on the process of writing and assembling the material from his book.
Morgan graduated from Fredonia in 2008 with a degree in History.

Cassadaga Library Association to meet Monday
The Cassadaga Library Association will be meeting on Monday, April 28 at 3 p.m. at the Cassadaga Branch Library, 18 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Plans for the Annual Walk Around The Lake to be held May 24 will be discussed. This event provides funds for Library programs and materials throughout the year. Members and interested volunteers are encouraged to attend the meeting.
