The 2nd annual Brandonator burger eating contest was recently held at the Sheridan Memorial VFW Post 6390 at 2556 Main Road in Sheridan. Contest hosts were Kathleen Cross and Doug Gula.
The contest, formerly held at the Rainbow Inn in Dunkirk, allowed contestants 20 minutes to eat as many of these famous double bacon cheeseburgers and condiments as they could. The Post's head cook, Allison Kozlowski, made the burgers according to the recipe provided by Brandon. Six contestants participated in the event - Zack, Dillon, Mike, Dakota, T.K. and Tyler. Doug Gula was the announcer for the event. During the 20-minute contest, he and Dave Liggamari provided the music which included "Eye of the Tiger," the Rocky theme and "Fat Bottom Girl." Quite a good crowd cheered on the contestants.
Mike Gloss won the contest, eating 3.5 burgers in the allotted time. For his efforts, he received a variety of gifts provided by the VFW Post, Budweiser, Labbatts Blue and snap on tool items donated by Doug Gula. He donated the monetary gift to the Blue Star Mothers, a group which sends care packages to United States active military stationed overseas.

The contest terms will be similar to the burger eating event.
