Robert B. Porter Jr., 83, of Porter, Texas, passed away on April 30, 2014 at his son's home in Katy, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, in Porter, Texas, at Friendship United Methodist Church, with Pastor Clay Whitaker presiding.
Bob was born in Dunkirk, New York, to Robert B. Porter Sr. and Ethel Blodgett Porter on May 15, 1930. He married Patricia Thompson on January 10, 1948 in Dunkirk, New York.
He was a Methodist Minister for our Lord for 58 years, serving many churches around Texas and also Bush Intercontinental Airport as Chaplain. He never really retired, as he continued to minister to many people. He served in the Army as an intercept radio operator.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Porter Sr.; his mother, Ethel Blodgett Porter, and his son, Robert B. Porter III.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson Porter; children Barbara Tolbert and husband Jerry, Sue Bryant and husband Gene, James Porter and wife Rhonda, and Thomas Porter and wife Nola; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
